98SE -- XP network: Need a wizard

I have a new XP Home (Media Center) and an older 98SE. Both are wired to a
cable broadband router and can access the internet just fine.

I want to network the two computers for file sharing and printing. XP can
be set up using the Network Setup Wizard. It then directs me to run that
same XP wizard on the other computer to complete the process. It says
either to use the XP CD in the older machine or to install the wizard on a
floppy drive and carry that to the other computer. But the new XP computer
has neither an XP CD (the OS came pre-installed) nor a floppy drive. No
other choice is offered for making a copy of the wizard (that is, it won't
allow me to choose my CD RW drive to save it).

Where can I find (and identify) the XP network setup wizard program? If I
can find it, I can figure out a way to get a copy from one machine to
another.

Forget the wizard and set up file and printer sharing on the 98se
manually. It's very simple particularly as your tcp/ip properties are
already set up and working correctly.

go to Control Panel | Network and:

1. Add these network components if they aren't already present:

TCP/IP protocol
Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks

2. Remove these network components if they're present:

IPX/SPX protocol
NetBEUI protocol
Client for NetWare networks

3. Set the workgroup name to the same name as the Windows XP computer
uses (default for XP is MSHOME).

If you want to use the Wizard, write this file to a CD-R or USB flash
drive on XP and run it on Windows 98:

C:\Windows\System32\Netsetup.exe

Thank you Steve. I've been on telephone support with HP, the microsoft
website, and other "expert" places asking that simple question: How can I
find the file? I think the problem is that most support functions don't
really listen to the question but try to find a packaged script that matches
some keywords in the request.
