Battery and cmos
Hi!
I know that my question may sound crazy, but I can´t find very clear information about this subject, so I decided to ask for your help. On the "Control Panel", in the "Energy Options" I can´t find the Option "Alarms". I´m worried about my PC´s baterry. I don´t know if it is low and if I need to change it. In case I need to change my battery, is that going to create any problem to the program CMOS? Some people say that we need to copy information from CMOS before changing battery. Thank you for your support. Carla Portugal |

The operating system has no means of monitoring the state of the battery
used to maintain your motherboard's volatile CMOS memory. This is different from the monitoring of a laptop's battery power source which is found under Control Panel | Power Options. It is always sensible to make a note of the various BIOS settings before swapping out the motherboard battery although if done quickly the settings are normally maintained due to the CMOS memory obtaining sufficient power from the charge in the capacitors on the motherboard. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Carla wrote: I know that my question may sound crazy, but I can´t find very clear information about this subject, so I decided to ask for your help.
