Default Cannot access cdrom

CD drive does not show in
/ start / settings / control panel / system / device
manager.

Restarted in safe mode and cd drive showed in
/ start / settings / control panel / system / device
manager.
Removed device and rebooted. No files/drivers were
installed.
Startup tested all drives and could not find either of the
cdroms.

Please help.
