Opening XLS file from Internet
I am having trouble accessing a XLS file from the internet.
Each time I try to open the file an "Open with" Window pops up, but I can't open it under any of the programs on my computer. I tried opening it in wordpad and change it to a text document, but each time it comes up coded. What do I do? |

Files with an XLS extension are Excel files. Excel is Microsoft's spreadsheet
program and forms part of Microsoft Office and not included as part of any Microsoft operating system. If you don't have a version of Microsoft Office installed you can download a free Excel viewer that should allow you to read the file even if not amend its contents from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=EN. I'm not sure how this viewer would cope however if the spreadsheet were to include features added as part of Excel 2002 or Excel 2003. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP GERRI wrote: I am having trouble accessing a XLS file from the internet.
