PNY Attache 256 MB USB 2.0 flash drive
I bought the above mentioned drive last week, and downloaded the Win98
drivers (M20.zip) from PNY's website. I unzipped the file and ran the ..exe with no apparent problem. However, when I insert the flash drive, W98 detects is and tries to find the drivers, but can't find anything that is compatible. It calls ie a "USB 20X" drive. The drive works fine under Win2000, WinXP and OS/2. Has anyone has this problem with this drive? Any suggestions? I've tried pointing the driver install to c:\program files\pny\attache 2.0 but it finds nothing there of use. DOKHDC.INF (08/28/03), DOKUSB.INF (08/28/03), MDOCUSB.SYS (08/28/03) , and MDOC.PDR (03/13/03) are in that directory. -- |

PNY Attache 256 MB USB 2.0 flash drive
Hi Mark,
Could this be it? From the PNY FAQ http://www.pny.com/support/faqs/read...&model=Attaché Is my Attaché plug and play compatible in Windows 98/98SE? Answer No. You must first install the drivers before you plug the Attaché into the USB port. If you've plugged the Attaché in prior to installing the drivers, simply remove this device through the Add/Remove Hardware portion of the Control Panel and start over again. -- Regards, Bert Kinney [MS-MVP DTS] http://dts-l.org/ How to Configure Outlook Express for Internet News: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=171164 "Mark Klebanoff" wrote I bought the above mentioned drive last week, and downloaded the Win98 drivers (M20.zip) from PNY's website. Nope. I've already tried that a dozen times-- it still can't find the
drivers. That was the first place I looked. On Sun, 20 Jun 2004 00:58:56 UTC, "Bert Kinney" wrote: Hi Mark, Could this be it? PNY Attache 256 MB USB 2.0 flash drive
Hi Mark,
If you have not already, go through the steps in FAQ 7. http://www.pny.com/support/faqs/read...&model=Attaché If this doesn't do it, I would suggest contacting PNY directly for support. -- Regards, Bert Kinney [MS-MVP DTS] http://dts-l.org/ How to Configure Outlook Express for Internet News: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=171164 "Mark Klebanoff" wrote Nope. The "DOKxxx" file names strongly suggest that the flash drive is actually a re-badged M-Systems DiskOnKey. I have used a couple of these on Win98 machines and each new hardware rev requires new drivers. Perhaps PMY's doenloads do not actually correspond to the hardware you bought. I agree with contacting PNY for new drivers. As a wild alternative, you might try www.diskonkey.com..... |
