I think it may be a bug in the installer from Epson, but I am not

sure. I
have seen
the exact thing happen before.

Dear Glle
I thank you for your help
I run a patch of Epson and re-installed my printer and i have

,as
per
your
suggestion, changed the target of the Epson Status Monitor check

to
the
wright path.So now i solve the problem

Put the check-mark back in the box for the Status Monitor, in
msconfig,
but do NOT
reboot when it prompts you. As I recall, that startup item

will
be
found
in the
Startup folder, not the Registry, so after re-enabling it in

msconfig,
click Start
Programs, then mouse over to StartUp, and you should see a

shortcut
there
to "Epson
Status Monitor 3 Environment Check".

If you want the actual Status Monitor to run at startup,

right-click
the
Epson
Status Monitor item there, left-click Properties on the menu

that
appears,
then the
Shortcut tab, and change the Target line to the path to

E_SRCV03.EXE
(probably in
the Windows\System folder....search for it), and click

Apply/OK.
So
most
likely the
path to the correct file will be

C:\Windows\System\E_SRCV03.EXE

Then you can re-boot and the Status Monitor should run rather

than
the
ISDN Wizard.
This is not the first time I have seen this exact problem with

the
Epson
Status
Monitor, and I suspect it is a bug in Epson's installer.

Hi Glee
I thank you for your reply:
I check my system with the Norton AV and it seems that all

is
ok::
no
virus
find.
I check msconfig and i discover a strange thing: :
in the startup tab i have the Epson Status Monitor 3

Environment
Check
(i
have an Epson Stylus Photo 870 printer in my system) that is
pointing to
these
C:\windows\system\cfgwiz32.exe
I de-check this from the startup tab.
I think personally that there is something in the register

that
is
wrong
because The Epson status Monitor is required from the

printer.
How can i solve this problem?
Really thank for your help

First, check you system for malware. There was a virus a

couple
of
years
ago that
would hijack the ISDN wizard and set it to run at startup,

so
that
it
would in fact
run the virus. Update your anti-virus app and then run a
full-system
virus scan.

Then, click Start Run, type: msconfig and click OK.
Click the Startup tab....do you see anything listed that
references an
ISDN setup?
It would be pointing to this file:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\CFGWIZ32.EXE

CFGWIZ32.EXE is the ISDN Configuration Wizard.

If you need help finding it, do this:
Click StartRun, type: msinfo32 and click OK.
In the left pane of the System Information window, click

the +
sign to
expand the
"Software Environment" category.
In the left pane, click to select "Startup

Programs"....they
will
appear
in a list
on the right.
Press Ctrl-A on the keyboard, which will highlight

everything
in
the
list
on the
right.
Press Ctrl-C to copy the list to the 'clipboard'.
Open a reply to this message, click in the body of the

message
and
press
Ctrl-V to
paste the list from the clipboard to the message, and post

back to
this
thread.

From some times (3 or $ days ago) at the finish of the

boot
is
appearing
a
windows for a configuration of a new ISDN connection.
I don't have any ISDN line ,but an DSL that is workong

fine:
How can avoid these stupid windows?
