It being the Time Zone changer of Mike's.

You know you have to get a life when you start at the screen at 2 am to
see if it is going to change to 3 am.......and it did, grin.

But actually I was yakking to Elayne as she is packing stuff
for........well, you know, lol.

Time Zone change? What stinking time zone change? No way I was getting
up earlier this morning! vbg

I'm pleased to read that the changes you made with TZEdit appear to have
both stuck and worked. I'm just glad I remember about the existence of
that utility from the Win96/98 days and that it was still available for
download.

Found this fix for the time change, tzedit, downloaded it, and did , I think

Since others have had no problem I would suggest you run TZEdit again and
see what it now reports as the change dates for your time zone. If
incorrect correct them.

Didn't work on my pc. I didn't get a DST prompt this morning.

It didn't work for me either, but I did at least one thing different: I
placed it under "Program Files" instead of the default "unzipped". I
wouldn't think it would care, but I'll experiment some more.

Where you put TZEdit is immaterial, the question is "Did you run TZEdit
and amend and save the new DTS start and end dates for your time zone?"
Once you've used the applet it can be discarded, all that it does is
change the registry entries for your time zone. Which version did you
use? Was it the one to which I provided a link?

Same questions as those I asked Joe. I assume that you changed it
manually as the time stamp on your post [Sun, 11 Mar 2007 09:20:41 -0400]
shows the correct offset for EDT.

OT and of little consequence, but, my XP machine did the time change without
a hitch.
Heirloom, old and could have used that other hour of sleep

The version I used was the softshape.com link from your email. And I
apparently saved the change, because after deleting it and re-installing it
the editor came up with Second Sunday of March already in place. I set my
clock back to 1:59 am and let it run and it changed from that to 3:00 am and
put up a message saying I am on daylight saving time--check my stuff. So
apparently it's working fine. Don't know--or much care now--why the time
didn't change when I turned the computer on this morning . . .

Thanks, Joe
