any way to view CPU processes?
I'm looking for a utility that will show me which processes are running and
how much CPU load it's using (...I can tell the computer is up to something when it should be idle and I want to know what.) I tried the CoralSoft Win9x/ME Task Manager which has an area to display this info, but their website says that function isn't actually working yet. Anyone know of another utility or a trick that would work? |

Suitable process viewers include the old but still functional WinTop (part
of the equally old Win95 Powertools available from http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/d...oy/Default.asp) through TaskInfo, unfortunately no longer free, (www.iarsn.com) to SysInternals Process Explorer (www.sysinternals.com where you will also find many other useful tools and utilities). -- Mike Maltby teasdam wrote: I'm looking for a utility that will show me which processes are running and how much CPU load it's using (...I can tell the computer is up to something when it should be idle and I want to know what.) Not that this is worth a lot, but, I have been using Process Explorer for a
long time without a problem. It is user friendly, has an intuitive GUI and a number of useful features.....not the least of which, is the ability to 'graph' about 5 minutes of cpu usage and simply hover your mouse pointer over a spike in said usage and it will tell you what app is using the cycles. I like it. Heirloom, old and easy to please "Mike M" wrote in message ... Hey Ogg!!!!
Great to hear your face...........yep, PE is a super little app. I am sure it has many capabilities that I am, yet, unfamiliar with. Heirloom, old and use it "Ogg" wrote in message ... HEY!
