HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

... What are you drinking, Shane??? Champers - just not much! Try to inject a "cup o' coffee". Had the coffee first, to wash the Co-codamol down. But forgot the Co-codamol. God they're bitter! More-or-less washed them down with champers. Which reminds me, exercises! Ther still are a few hours left, remember? Not here, mate! You posted 15 mins before midnight here. And then a happy new year to you too. Happy New Year, Harry! Shane "Shane" wrote in message ... Christmas. Shane! sorry. "Shane" wrote in message ... regards, Merry New Happy, Yearloom! Heir, Shane "Heirloom" wrote in message ... Thanks Mike, Not being one to "click merrily away", I guess I am safe enough....for now....having unregistered the .dll, blocked the 'bad' sites, using updated MVP Hosts file and adding the recommended sites to the Restricted Zone. Heirloom, old and OT, but, will sleep better tonight "Mike M" wrote in message ... BTW, did you see the shmgvw.dll 'fix' in the latest post??? Yes Opinions? OK I guess for those who click merrily away when browsing or viewing their e-mail. For myself I'm not that worried about this particular vulnerability although I appreciate that those who go for the full eye candy click everything approach to computing then the fix could well be worth investigating. For example I very rarely use thumbnail view. My two main boxes being AMD64s both have hardware DEP enabled which significantly mitigates the potential problem (software DEP being less useful as a safeguard). As for MSPaint, remember also that IrfanView and Xnview are infection vectors even when shimgvw.dll is unregistered. -- Mike -- The Sugitive Chapter One: http://tinyurl.com/bcevp Chapter Two: http://tinyurl.com/ag92o Chapter Three: Coming to an URL near you soon! ------------------------------------ |

Maybe a few hours left for you but right now it's one hour and 54 minutes past midnight in Spain and we're already in the new year, waiting for you Americans to catch up. HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
Harry,
Look at the headers of Shane's post (Date: Sun, 1 Jan 2006 00:49:33 -0000) and yours (Date: Sat, 31 Dec 2005 20:02:55 -0500). You will see that Shane was posting at 00:49 his time and that he is in the GMT time zone. Your post shows that you posted at 20:02 your time and that you are in a time zone five hours behind GMT, probably EST. -- Mike Maltby webster72n wrote: No wonder, it shows 7:49 PM, but that's our time and I have no idea how to find your's. HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
I don't have that information here, Mike, only the time I mentioned. I was too busy running the scanner for malware and might have found something. Time to go to bed now (near Philadelphia) in 2006. Harry, That is something I don't understand. The information I refer to is in the header of each and every post made to this or any other newsgroup since the NNTP header will always contain a date field. -- Mike Maltby webster72n wrote: I don't have that information here, Mike, only the time I mentioned. Yeah, Mike, neither do I. My header shows the time I mentioned, 7:49 PM I believe. As long as everything else is working and no malware for me either, as I found out. Not a bad start. Harry. Harry.....right click on a post (or email) and then click on Properties,
then Details....that will give you the headers. Heather "webster72n" wrote in message ... Yeah, Mike, neither do I. My header shows the time I mentioned, 7:49 PM I believe.
