Using Help Troubleshooter I end up with a blank window
You have helped me immensely. I just wasn't aware of how
to use Dr. Watson By doing my homework and simply reading what Microsoft provides on the subject I now know the purpose of Dr. Watson and how to use it. BUT...the reason I originally went to Dr. Watson was in regard to another problem on which I can possibly impose on you to provide me some G2. Here is a description of the problem. I go to Start/Help/Monitors/troubleshooting. From the popup menu I select "display troubleshooter" and then check "I can't run full-screen MS-DOS programs on my secondary monitor" and then click on "next". A blank window appears. I am only concerned that a blank window appears as I have already solved by monitor problem. By the way, the same blank window appears for any other similar "display troubleshooter" procedure such as that involving sound. Your help is greatly appreciated. |

Using Help Troubleshooter I end up with a blank window
Did you recently install a security update?
If so, get the TS work around fix at: http://mvps.org/PracticallyNerded/SoftFixes.htm If not, do a find on your hard drive for: tshoot.inf If it is not found, open Explorer and on the toolbar click, View, Folder Options and View tab. Mark the box, Show all files. Do the find again. When found, right click the file and select install. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "bencerr" wrote in message ... Using Help Troubleshooter I end up with a blank window
Thanks much Ron,
I did the find on tshoot.inf and did the install but the same problem still occurs using Windows Help. However, downloading the TS from the referred website has provided me the full use of the Troubleshooter using the shortcut on my desktop. Hence, despite the obviously inherent problem, the TS patch seems to solve it by way of an end run. I sincerely thank you for your help.
