I have been trying to set up my home network for 2 days
now. I could really use some help.

This is what Ive got;
2 computers with windows xp and 1 with windows me.
linksys wireless router
cable modem

I have the 2 xp computers wired into the router with cat5
cable and the 1 me computer has the wireless card.

I tried connecting the 3 by using the Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP). When I had it this way the me comp could see
the shared doc on the xp pcs but the xp pcs could not see
the me pc. Also the xp pcs file and printer sharing
wouldnt work.

I then tried this on the xp pcs:
To enable file and print sharing on the IPX/SPX protocol
You must be logged on as a computer administrator to
complete this procedure.
Only perform this procedure if your home or small office
computers are connected directly to the Internet through
individual connections or using a DSL or cable modem
connected to an Ethernet network hub.
Open Network Connections.
Under LAN or High-Speed Internet, click the local area
connection for the home or small office network.
Under Network Tasks, click Change settings of this
connection.
In Local Area Network Properties, click Install.
In Select Network Component Type, click Protocol, and
then click Add.
Click NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS Compatible Transport
Protocol, click OK, and then click Close.
In Network Connections, on the Advanced menu, click
Advanced Settings.
On the Adapters and Bindings tab, under Connections,
click the local area connection on which you are enabling
IPX/SPX file and print sharing.
Under Bindings for Local Area Connection, under File and
Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks, clear the
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) check box, and then click OK.
Notes
To open Network Connections, click Start, point to
Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click
Network Connections.
To enable IPX/SPX on Windows 98, Windows 98 Second
Edition, Windows Millennium Edition, and Windows 2000,
see the online help for those operating systems.

And did this to the me pc:
To enable IPX/SPX file and print sharing on Windows 95,
Windows 98, and Windows Millennium Edition
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control
Panel.
Double-click Network.
If File and Print Sharing is installed, click File and
Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks, and then click
Remove.
Click Add.
In Select Network Component Type, click Protocol, and
then click Add.
In Select Network Protocol, under Manufacturers, click
Microsoft.
Under Network Protocols, click IPX/SPX-compatible
Protocol and then click OK.
On the Network properties page, click Add, and then in
Select Network Component Type, click Service.
In Select Network Service, under Manufacturers, click
Microsoft.
Under Network Services, click File and Printer Sharing
for NetWare Networks and then click OK.
Important
Only perform this procedure if your home or small office
computers are connected directly to the Internet through
individual connections or using a DSL or cable modem
connected to an Ethernet network hub.
Note
In Windows Millennium Edition, when you start Control
Panel, you might see a list of frequently used Control
Panel items. To see all of the Control Panel icons, click
View all Control Panel options.


Now the xp computers work great and both can use the
files and printer but the me pc wont even connect to the
network now.

When I logon to the me pc I get this error:
Unable to load the dynamic link library:
nwnp32.dll
The system cannot find the file specified
Some or all of the following feature is not available:
NetWare

something seems bizarre about removing f&p sharing (fps) then re-adding it
with the NetWare. and then after following instructions, you receive msg
about missing NetWare dll.

compatible (?) fps protocol. (disclaimer, I'm just a home LAN bumbler too
