Default Broadband Connection with Windows 98 SE

Can anyone tell me if I can run a second home PC for the kids on Broadband.
The kids PC is a Pentium 566MHz running Win98SE. I would be running a WiFi
Router from my PC which is a P4 3.2GHz.

If not will the second system work if I up it to either Windows 2000 or XP
(Although I don't know if a 566 will run XP.

Thanx in advance.

Do you have a wireless card for the 566 and can it run on W98?

Not yet. I'm looking at the feasibility first. I have talked to Telstra and
they can provide the WiFi router and receiver. Don't know whether it is Win
98 compatible. I'm also looking at upping the OS to XP currently.

It is entirely feasible if you get a card that supports SE; however, Telstra
would be in a better position to answer your questions I think. A 566 will
run XP if you have 512 mb of ram installed (my recommendation, not MS). My
backup computer is an 866 with 512 mb and it runs XP Pro OK. I really see
no reason to upgrade unless Telstra requires it.
