Off Topic OE problem - help

I am cross posting this problem cos I know the best fundies hang around in
this newsgroup. Does anybody have any ideas about this queer problem ??

I've been all through Tomsterdam's site and there is nothing relating to my
problem, which still exists.
For incoming mail with an attachment, the attachment window shows nothing
but I can save the attachment by going to File, Save attachment.
When I attach something to an outgoing mail only the 'data' icon appears in
the attachment window but the attached file does in fact get delivered.
I cannot imagine what I have done to get into this strange state.
Any other ideas ??
