Microsoft Updates=Windows ME
Whenever I am to update critical updates needed for my
system, I get an error message stating that I already have an update that has been done; however, I need to just restart my system!!! I continually get this message, regardless of restarting my system or not. Can anyone help me with this problem. Thank you |

Do a Search for the file WININIT.INI - if you find it, then rename it to
WININIT.JNK, and reboot - your problem should be gone. If you don't find it, then try this - Start|Run - enter SCANREG /FIX into the dialog box, and click OK - windows will reboot - see if that fixes it.
