I bet you were in danger of setting the bedclothes alight, weren't you
George?

What a wonderful statement, eh? So many possible meanings! I can just keep
saying 'no, that's not what I meant!' g I feel like I'm ahead of the day
already!

No, haven't heard of those, though when I learnt guitar I did it
mostly with a 'complete' Beatles sheet music book. And a Led Zep one.

I learned to play the guitar with the help of the Bert Weedon
'Play With Yourself In A Day' guide book, but I had a lot of
trouble getting my guitar under the bedclothes!

That was in 1966, and believe it or not, the book is still available.

Mind you, they seemed to have changed the title ...!

Now, you see, I figured you wouldn't like the Beatles because you
like the Stones, but not Elvis (unless that was tongue-in-cheek).
Not infallible logic, I grant - but the Beatles liked Elvis! I think
the early stuff - the Sun Session stuff, is wonderful. Scotty Moore
has to have been involved! Like with Buddy Holly, early stuff's
great, later stuff is commercial (I mean, *orchestras*? - though of
course the Beatles used one, a bit anyhow, more for effect. *All You
Need Is Love* is about the earliest memory I have of pop music that
actually made me feel good! That and *Say A Little Prayer*, which
seemed about the same time. Also loved *Tears of a Clown* though
thought Smokey Robinson was female for a couple of years or so! Not
that he then had a sex change). Shane

I have all the old vinyl albums of the Beatles and the Stones, to
include the ones with the songs you mentioned. I especially liked
the earlier Stones......."Girl with the far away eyes"......you've
probably never heard that one....or "Flight 505", great piano solo
in that one...complete with echo. I purchased all of these albums
as they came out. At the time, I could buy an album for $2.50 US on
the AFB. Also have an original "White album", with the inserts,
mint. "Girl with the far away eyes" is probably the only 'country' song
the Stones ever made......although, Jagger leaves a lot to be
desired in the southern country accent department, it was still good.

Decembers Children is a good album........I think that is the one
that has "Yesterday's Papers" on it, quite good.
And the "Aftermath" album, spectacular, it contains "Flight 505".
Lyrics: http://www.keno.org/stones_lyrics/flight505.html
I have all of their original albums through the '60's and '70's,
probably about 21 of the 30 or so albums they have done. I have all
the "old" ones, :-)

And, yes, I have a large number of the Beatles albums, as well. But, we
have no "Next" stores.
Heirloom, old and plenty of vinyl

Let's see - bin a few years - blah blah blah blah chicken fat and
bacon grease? Down the road, down the road, down the road, down the
road a'piece?

I'm a King Bee, buzzin' around your hive! (well, not yours, 'loom),
I'm a King Bee! blah blah blah blah - so didn't you like the
Beatles? I got that album - not when it was released, obviously,
not old enough - at the same time as the Beatles one - 'With the
Beatles'? - with 'You've really Got a Hold On Me'. Don't remember
if that was the title, but loved it. Wonder if I've still got it
on the 4 cd set? Must check. Not sure what this is in aid of -
except that you reminded me of that
Stones one from their best period (imo). And I'm cutting down the
pain killers lately and getting nervous energy (also getting angry
a lot). I was in Next earlier. You have 'Next' there, or is that
just a Brit
store? Any way don't know why - actually I do, opposite is 'Charlie
Browns'! I was walking around the store thinking:

(Altogether now) - 'He walks in the classroom, cool and slow, who
calls the English teacher Daddio? Charlie Brown! Charlie Brown!
He's a clown, that Charlie Brown!'

I just can't see Charlie Brown calling anyone Daddio! But maybe
that counts as picking on him.

Wish I still had that album (the Stones one. The one with Route 66
on it iirc)

You like 'Performance', H? Edward Fox as Chas. Amazing seeing him
ever since playing an 'establishment' Brit. And Anita Pallenberg? I
don't think he plays her though, though he might have then.

I probably ought to go to bed soon!

My mum got me a Krispy Kreme donut on Paddington station a few
months back and I didn't think that much of it. Not fresh enough.
Seemed like it could have been made weeks ago.

And not a fish'n'chips man then, eh? I should think your mum's
embarrassed to be seen with you!

Bad Mow!! And I hate beer and back bacon, btw. And hockey

donuts in the WORLD!! They even opened a Tim Horton's at the
Canadian HQ in Afghanistan to give them the soldiers a taste

You stole the 'American Eagle'. Watch it, Bushie won't like

not consider the language spoken in Quebec to be French. Then

All the above was written with no alcoholic influence

George,

Microsoft have been having problems with the news servers since last
weekend and they are currently running on a backup primary server. This
has had a number of adverse consequences including the automatic spam
removal tools not working correctly (hence the unwanted spam last weekend)
and some synch problems between the primary server and its slaves.

They weren't the originators in bringing this "terrible" phrase here, Figgs.
And the "Loon" was just trying to be "polite" about it.
Seems it wasn't appreciated.
Maybe another try would help? H.

Yeah, that's a classy one. Definately don't recall that. I had the first
two
albums, I think. My dad had the Stones stuff when I was a kid - in fact I
may have got him one for his birthday once - 'Let It Bleed' or 'Through A
Glass Darkly' iirc.

*He* didn't like the Beatles. Still doesn't afaik. You know where I live
now
(without saying it for the benefit of that imbecile from Ohio)? Brian
Jones
came from here. My dad went to the same school but was a year or two
younger.

Other songs I loved as a kid were 'Not Fade Away', 'It's All Over Now' and
'The Last Time' - I
can still hear them as memories from then. I certainly heard them on the
radio a lot!
