Default "recording" slider control

I cannot move the slider labeled "recording". All the
correct boxes appear to be checked. It appears but does
not respond to movement. ??? It did work fine last time
I used it.

Where? Are you referring to the Volume Control, when you double-click the speakerr
icon in the system tray?

Have you tried re-booting?
