Default vx2.dll

hello there..
i need a little help.. i keep getting a vx2.dll error and
wont open close to any ms prodocts..

what i want to know is do i have to restall everything or
is there a way ti fix this.. i havent had any problems with
win me since i got way back in 2000. or is it better to go
out and just but the win xp upgrade. to get rid of the
problem.. had to download netscape in between the error..

thanks for your help please e-mail with the answer..

too much stuff to reinstall if i havr to go the nuke way...

You have picked up a parasite.

For details see:
Parasite:Transponder http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/Transponder.html, and,
http://www.cexx.org/vx2.htm which states:

"If you have this unwanted guest you probably have others as well. Get a
copy of AdAware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com, install it, run it and
download the latest updates, then scan your system and clean everything it
finds. When complete, restart the system and scan it again. Keep scanning,
cleaning and restarting until the system tests clean. Some stubborn pests
may require a restart in Safe Mode to clean them if they persist through
several scan/clean cycles.

You may also want to get the CoolWeb Shredder from here since it targets one
specific, often-changing spyware program - see
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html

CWShredder can be downloaded from either:
http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/CWShredder.zip
or
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip

In addition I would also recommend that you also download and use Patrick
Kolla's SpyBot S & D which can be found at http://www.safer-networking.org/
since SpyBot will often pick up parasites missed by AdAware.
