Default Weird Startup

As I booted up my system and looked at the post readings, it had stopped and
their was a message about overclocking. Now, I never overclocked in my life.
It said press F1 for the bios and press F2 to change to default. I didn't know
what to do. I just shut off my system and rebooted, hopeing it was a glitch.
Sure enough this time it went through normally. Does anyone know why I would
get that message about overclocking during post? If it should happen again,
should I just go and set it for default.? What would happen if I did? Lose any
of my data and etc.?
