Act8ive Desktop Recovery + Defragmentation

I guess there are a number of issues here
On the ME, it always goes to the Active Desktop Recovery. When I try to
uncheck theu desktopsettingAdvance and uncheck the Active Desktop, it will
hang.

Also when I boot up a message always pop up saying Explorer encounter an
unknown eror and will now closed. It will reappear when I try to close it.
Try to do system maintenance, so startall progaccessoriessystem
toolscommunication and nothing else. So how can I get defragmentation done.
I guess I should have protect my pc well before venturing into the internet
world...thanks
