WININET.DLL
Before I begin-- please just read through my message
before posting a response, because I'll list the 100 things I've tried and I don't want to waste your time or mine with the old stuff, lol. "Explorer has caused an error in wininet.dll" You can replace "Explorer" with AIM, Msimm (but only when opening html encoded emails), and several other programs. I am on a Dell Dimension 4100, Pentium III, 384 mB ram, 1 ghz, using Optimum Online cable modem, Windows ME, Explorer 6. this is NOT an invalid page fault or module error, so please don't give me that KB doc. This is NOT wininit, the virus. What I have done so far: --Replaced the old wininet.dll: I couldn't do it with windows running, regular or safe mode, so i did it through DOS on a boot disk. NO LUCK. --Internet Explorer repair. NO LUCK. --Reload Internet Explorer: Can't do it because it tries to log onto net to fix it. NO LUCK. -- Went back to prior Windows Updat,e thinking maybe the update loaded bad. NO LUCK. -- Deleted temporary Internet Folder. NO LUCK. I'll take suggestions from this point forward. PLEASE help me out! I need to get this computer up and running to take it off to college in a month! Joe |

I nearly forgot to add that I also did Spyware checks,
because I was almost positive that was my problem.. .but it doesn't appear to be. -----Original Message----- Before I begin-- please just read through my message before posting a response, because I'll list the 100 things I've tried and I don't want to waste your time or mine with the old stuff, lol.
