Default Internet explorer shutting down

The last 2 days have been messed up with the internet. I
go from one web page to another or one site to anoth and
this is popping up: Microsoft Internet Explorer has
encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for
the inconvenience. I click here and it says; Error
signature Appname iexplore.exe AppVersion 6.0.2800.1106
ModName msvcrt.dll ModVersion 6.1.8293.0 Offset
000154a7. I click even further and has module information.
I need to know what to do if anything. Ihave email for
hotmail and yahoo and can't get to it, much less any other
important sites. I have firewall, virus program, spyware
and adware programs, but nothing has showed up. Thank you
for any help.

Can you run a Repair on IE?

Start Settings Control Panel Add/Remove Programs.
Scroll to Internet Explorer (** Not one of the MS Updates but the actual =
IE )
Double click it and a Window should come up with one of the choices =
being Repair.
Click Repair and when done Reboot.

Post back with results.=20

Thanks I tried that but when I went to add/remove programs
Internet Explorer was not on there, but the update was. I
still can't get to my e-mail, and if I have to wait I'll
have 4,000 or moree e-mails to go through. I went through
set up, and it asked if I wanted to revert back to the
old. I may try that.
