Default PCMCIA or USB to DB9 serial port adapter

I have a laptop with Win98SE installed. Need to have at least one,
preferably two conventional DB9 (COM1 & COM2) serial ports for certain
software to run. The adapter can be either USB or PCMCIA. Would like
input on what others have found to be to be a good adapter, compatible
with 98.

Thanks
Vic
