Default Direct cable connection won't work

I am trying to hook up my IBM thinkpad , W/98 to my PC which also
has W/98. I want to use the direct cable connection and bought a new
cable to do this. I went through the configuration steps on both
computers and initiated the program on both with one set up as host
and the other as guest but IT WILL NOT CONNECT! aaaarrrghh!
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Rick

Thanks for the help. Your web page helped me get through configuration
for the laptop but the pc will not extract the files needed and seems
to want to extract those files from
C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\AOL\ACS\NET\WIN98SE\
rather than the CD that has W98 on it. Do you know where on the W98
cd those files are.
Thanks again
Rick
