Default Correct Errors Prior To Defrag

I can run my scan disc and defrag programs fine. HOWEVER,
if I attempt to run the correct errors option first, that
never completes and moves into the defrag program. I have
no virus. 78% of my resources are free. I have Dell
Dimension XPS T450 and have never had any problem with it
before. I run AdAware 6 daily. (can one delete ALL files
that end with .tmp and be safe). Do NO programs ever use
them? I only have about 50 of those left. Can one remove
temp folders? And when one reinstalls Windows 98 SE it
seems all the IE5 files are back. May ALL of those be
removed if using IE6? Please help. Microsoft is NOWHERE to
be found. Thank you, James

If you get rid of all the garbage first, perhaps you won't have a problem:
See the defrag and scandisk troubleshooters located he
http://home.satx.rr.com/badour/html/how_to.html

You can delete everything in the Temp folder and if a file is still being
used, the system will deny the deletion. After a reboot, the file(s) will
probably then be able to be deleted. You need to keep the Temp folder.

That's because SE contains IE5 and it is installed automatically when you
install Windows. I have no experience with this because I never install
over an existing system and that is what I assume you have done. Rather
than deleting the files, I would rename the file folder and test the system
out for a week or so and then delete them if no problems have shown up.

No where to be found? Where have you looked? MS is all over the internet
and is physically located in several states. :-)
