Microsoft Paint (Windows 98) can't save as JPEG format

I had 2 machine both run the same OS(Win98) & office2000 Std. Why one machine
able to save JPEG format in ms paint the other can't? Anyway to change it
able to save as JPEG format in Microsoft Paint. Pls advice.

JPEG does not save in Paint without the right filters. (which you may
not have installed)

Same conditions here. Like one link says, have Office 2000 w/SP3 installed.
On this PC, MS Paint in 98 can open jpegs, but can't save in that format.

Office 2K comes with MS Photo Editor, does alot more than MS Paint. And
more save file extension choices including jpeg. And can be used to
translate a MS Paint made bmp or gif into jpeg.

Besides the good advice of what the others have told you, you also have
another option where you definitely can make a few adjustments to get jpg
(and more) to work in paint on your other computer without installing
programs if you want.
