Can you go into your BIOS and look for a "Booting Order" setting... on most people's computers it should be FD, CD, HD, Network (unless you're actually trying to boot from the network in which case you have a different problem). If HD is already before Network then take a look at the BIOS settings for your Hard Drive... (note that your laptop almost certainly has a proprietary type of BIOS which might have differentish labels) Is Autodetect set ? or does the name/model of your Hard Drive appear? Are both IDE channels enabled ? If the answer to all of the above is "yes" then dig out the old WinME floppy bootdisk (or download one from www.bootdisk.com - WinME OEM) and fire up FDISK (large disk support = yes) and see if it can tell you anything. -----Original Message----- wrote: how do i go into bios im sort of new to this No idea, tapping on the DEL key during bootup is the usual way on generic desktop systems, but large manufacturers use their own key (F1, F10, etc.) and most laptops also have a "non- normal" key. Read your Owner/User Manual if you have one or check out the laptop manufacturer's website Support section on how to get into the BIOS. Rick . ok i found it now what do i do |

That would depend... if you're the original poster of this thread then
try to follow the suggestions I've made, and post back with results (or wait for somebody else to jump in with something else). Rick wrote: ok i found it now what do i do |
