Default symevnt.386

Hi, I keep getting this message when I start up.
The Windows Registry or SYSTEM.INI file refers to this
device file but the
device file no longer exists.
If you disabled this file on purpose, try uninstalling the
associated
application using its uninstall or setup program.
If you still want to use this application associated with
this device file
try re-installing the application to replace the missing
file.
C:\PROG`1/symantec/symevnt.386
I've read somewhere else just to get rid of it using
regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetServic esVxD
But what do I do once I'm in VxD?

You delete the reference, though I suggest you export any key for
safety with the menu option Registry-Export before you delete it if
you don't know what you are doing.

Use Regedit.exe and remove any reference to Symevnt.386
Start-Run-Regedit.
Navigate down to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\VxD
Expand VXD, find Symevnt and delete if there.
Restart the computer when finished.
