How to run a program at boot-time (not login)
I need to know how to run a program at boot time. I know
how to make a program run when a user logs on (both putting it in the registry and the startup folder), but I do not know how to make it run when a user is logged out. Thanks! |

Try the RunServices key.
Run, RunOnce, RunServices, RunServicesOnce and Startup http://support.microsoft.com/support.../q179/3/65.asp ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/index.html In microsoft.public.win98.apps, "M. You ask about boot time but then talk about logging off--what exactly do you
want? -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "M. Chen" wrote in message ... -----Original Message----- You ask about boot time but then talk about logging off-- what exactly do you want? I want a program to be running, regardless if a user is logged in or out. |

scribbled some thoughts: NOTE: Best viewed in a fixed pitch font You ask about boot time but then talk about logging off--what exactly do you want? Sounds like an Autoexec.bat issue, provided the action is DOS in nature. -- Sincerely, | (©) (©) | ------ooo--(_)--ooo------ Andrew H. Carter | /// \\\ d(-_-)b | |

I want a program to be running, regardless if a user is logged in or out. Could it be that you want it to stay running, or just run once, such as delete Temporary Internet Files, then stop or do another task? That could be done via the Autoexec.bat But if it is a proggie which can only be run in Windows, then it won't be of much use. -- Sincerely, | (©) (©) | ------ooo--(_)--ooo------ Andrew H.
