Default reinstalling ME

Hi
I am trying to help a friend reinstall windows ME from a completely
formatted pc. He has what appears to be a working boot disk. Everythink seems
to go OK but the cd drive seems to have been changed from "d" to "e". When i
get the E: prompt i type in setup and it seems to try to read the cdrom but
nothing happens. I have been into bios and asked the pc to boot up from "E"
but the disk is not bootable. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Run setup from the CD by booting with the Win Me boot floppy and entering
E:\Setup at the A:\ prompt. The reason why the CD-ROM is assigned E is
probably due to a RAMdisk being assigned D. That is C: is the hard drive
(single partition), D: a RAM disk set up using some of the system RAM and
E: the CD-ROM. Once Win Me is up and running you should find the CD-ROM
is enumerated as D although you can subsequently change this to suit your
needs.
