Default Computer freezing up

I have Windows 98E and Office 97. My computer frequently freezes in all
programs as well as email and IE. I have run scan disk numerous times and
that straightens it out for a while, but then it starts all over again. Even
the shut down program freezes. I have to manually turn it off and have it
check disk before I can start up again.

More info about your system would be good. I take it that you are running 98
SE. How much RAM do you have? CPU speed? onboard video (2-64mb?) or PCI
card?
