I just find that my win.ini file contains references to program that has
been removed a long time ago, Paint Shop Pro.

Sometimes(rare) I have problem to open image file, just got prompt window
saying that canno find psp.exe
I want replace path with path to Irfan viewer, which I prefer to use. What
is default image files viewer in win 98?
Also one win.ini section have name of application that is not installed
[Indigo Rose], can it be removed?

Yes, you can remove those listed. Look in IrfanView's menus for an
option to set file associations.

Yes, you can also remove the [Indigo Rose] section if you don't have that
program installed.

Just to add.. when unsure you can simply comment out any line in
an *.ini file by prepending the line with a semicolon; e.g.

; [Extensions]

Sometimes(rare) I have problem to open image file, just got prompt

window
saying that canno find psp.exe
I want replace path with path to Irfan viewer, which I prefer to use.

What
is default image files viewer in win 98?
Also one win.ini section have name of application that is not installed
[Indigo Rose], can it be removed?

[Extensions]
BMP=C:\Program Files\IrfanView\i_view32.exe^.BMP for it was :::
BMP=C:\WINDOWS\PBRUSH.EXE

Open IrfanView go to Options Open Properties .go to Extensions
just Check the ones you need
For you will see PSP in IrfanView Extensions list and say::; Paint Shop Pro
Image Check it to LOOL.

and IrfanView will rewrite Extensions list in WIN.INI for you.....
