What do I do with SYSTEM.INI File? I am more confident to work in REGEDIT as
I can use Find to locate NAVAP.VXD and delete it!
Thanks in advance.

To look in SYSTEM.INI, do Start / Run / SYSEDIT / OK and select the
system.ini file. To look in the registry, do Start / Run / REGEDIT / OK

and
use the search function. Searching on NAVAP.VXD should be sufficient.
Delete the entry wherever you find it.

My friend has a WIN 98 SE. Inadvertently, it also had Norton 2.0 meant

for
Win 95. I have removed it and installed AVG 7.0 Free Edition which is
working well. However, when starting the screen shows as under:

QUOTE
Cannot find a device file that may be needed to run Windows or a Windows
application.
The Windows registry or SYSTEM.INI file refers to this device file, but
the
device file no longer exists.
If you deleted this file on purpose, try uninstalling the associated
application using its uninstall or set up program.
If you still want to use the application associated with this device

file,
try reinstalling that application to replace the missing file.
