Mike:

I decided to give the whole suit (AV and firewall) another try. So I have
not tried to unistall the whole thing again.

What I meant was that I can not locate an option on the program to get out
of it (Exit the program). For example, if I open MS Excel, work for a while
in it and then want to close Excel so it is no longer open / running in the
background, I would simple go File-Exit or click the X in the upper right
corner. Excel then closes and is no longer running on my system.

Lets say I want to close/Exit etrust AV (not uninstall) until I figure out a
way to get the signatures downloaded. Well, I have not been able to find a
way to do this. Can it be done? Am I missing something? If it cant be
done (without going into MSconfig or some other system thing)then why is it
set up this way?

I never had a firewall before installing the one included in the etrust EZ
suite. That firewall is up and running but I would have thought the
installation would have taken care of any configuration issues between
etrust EZ AV & etrust EZ Firewall. I am not connecting using a router, just
a simple cable modem connection.

Thanks again, Keith

Having reinstalled EZArmor are you saying that you are still unable to
remove the entire application including eTrust AV? If so then something
very off is going on and not something I ever recall having seen reported
before. As for your problems in obtaining updated signature files a
couple of questions if I may. How are you connecting to the net? Are you
suing a router with NAT or a firewall on Win Me? If so have you
configured this appropriately to allow eTrust to download updates - it
does this using FTP?

As for Computer Associates Help & Support, I don't think much of them
either. I've received replies to enquiries I've made in the past but only
ever stock references to CA knowledge base articles and IMO they seem to
be either unwilling or unable to provide usable responses to specific
queries.

OK, I guess I should not have been so quick to trash the etrust EZ
armour suite. I did redownload and tried it again (supposedly it
successfully installed this time as well) with the same problems as
far as the AV portion being unable to download what it needs to run.

I still have been unable to find a way to disable / turn off / exit
from these programs (without uninstalling them). It appears that
they always are active and they can not be shut down? Could you tell
me if I am missing something here?

Also, I did attempt to contact customer support once again outlining
the exact nature of the problem I am having. I thoroughly searched
their site/knowledge base and could not locate an answer to the
problem I am having. Do you know if it is typical for them not to
respond?

Thanks for your help.
