No.
Your version of NAV, 2001, is out-of-date
As for Adaware, download the latest version called Adaware SE.
Just to make sure, perform the following....
1) Download the following three items...
Trend Sysclean Package
http://www.trendmicro.com/download/dcs.asp
Latest Trend signature files.
http://www.trendmicro.com/download/pattern.asp
Adaware SE (personal free version)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
Create a directory.
On drive "C:\"
(e.g., "c:\New Folder")
or the desktop
(e.g., "C:\Documents and Settings\lipman\Desktop\New Folder")
Download sysclean.com and place it in that directory.
Dowload the signature files (pattern files) by obtaining the ZIP file.
For example; lpt202.zip
Extract the contents of the ZIP file and place the contents in the same
directory as
sysclean.com.
2) Update Adware with the latest definitions.
3) Reboot your PC into Safe Mode
4) Using both the Trend Sysclean utility and Adaware, perform a Full
Scan of your
platform and clean/delete any infectors/parasites found.
5) Restart your PC and perform a "final" Full Scan of your platform
using both the
Trend Sysclean utility and Adaware
6) Please report back your results

| Dear Help group,
|
| My Computer is Windows 98 SE, AMD, Athlon XP 1800+, 384 MB RAM
|
| I protect it with Norton Anti-Virus 2001 (always updated with new def.),
| Zone Alarm firewall, Spybot S&D, Adaware.
|
| My question is about the Norton Anti Virus. When I purchased the first
| annual def. update it was about $ 9.00. the next year it was about $
19.00.
|
| Am I doing the correct things to protect my PC? Should I continue to
| purchase the Norton AV updates or switch to another software protection?
|
| Your help will be appreciated.
|
| Thanks.
