Default Connectivity issues with ME & PeoplePC Accelerated?

Thanks, Noel. I had a feeling it was going to be something like that. Do you
suggest we go back to the version prior to the "accelerated" or upgrade to XP?

Oh dear - you fell for the marketing hype, did you??

note the 'UP TO' in the ads? - truth is that it's possibly SLOWER than a
direct connection, and is ALMOST NEVER anywhere near 5x faster than standard
dialup - and DOES have problems with almost every computer on the planet.

The reason is quite simple to get the 'improved transfer speed' the content
has to be compressed - which means that it has to be compressible, for one
thing, and also that something has to do the compressing in advance of the
send. Once your PC has received it, it then has to decompress it, and
display it. - and here's where the problems start coming in, because the
compression introduces errors, which are not corrected by the buggy
decompression routines that the sellers use (to maximise throughput) - so
odd things start happening, and eventually they overwhelm the system's
ability to cope, and you get BSoD's and other nasty side-effects.
The compression/decompression is optimised for newer faster machines,
running XP - and they don't really give a XXXX about the older machine
user - even if that's likely to be their main source of income in a couple
of years time, as everyone else will be running BB machines.

We recently upgraded to PeoplePC accelerated verson and keep getting all
kinds of error. We get the blue screen, get logged off the internet and
other
miscellanoeus errors. Is there a compatibility problem with ME and
PeoplePC
accelerated?
