Default create drive in free space

I would start over and make it all 1 partition
then fresh install. My C is 2.56Gig and 1.02 used
with nothing other thaan Win98-SE using it, I still
have minor swapp file problems from time to time.
650Mb would be ok for a D storage drive, win98,
and all drivers this also saves on load up time.
Hope this helps.

Hello Newsgroups

I am mainly familiar with Win2K and WinXP installs, so
when I get a Win98 box to fix, I am oftened stumbled.

The case:

I had problems fixing a virussed Win98 box, and tried all
the obvious ways to remove the virus manually and with
tools, but in the end the only practical way was to re-
install Win98.

First I had problems using the standard boot disk that
came with the customers computer, as the boot disk did

not
have format.com on the floppy. So, I created a setup
disk with the Win98 tools, and therfore was able to

format
the drive c: and get rid of old infected files, or so I
thought. Unfrotunately, I only made the main active disk
650 mb. Now I am realsing that I forgot to make the
biggest disk possible. I still have approx 15 gb spare,
free, and unpartitioned.

Question is, how do I now create a drive (in the free
space) now that I have Win98 succesfully installed on

such
a small primary drive?

Obviously if it was a W2K machine then I could use MMC or
a third party tool.

I don't want to have to blow away the machine again, as
this would take some time. I want to deliver the

computer
back to the customer ASAP.

Questions:

1. is it simply a matter of using fdisk.exe again to
create a logical drive, and I will see this drive when I
start the primary operating system again? Or, do I have

to
use another tool, or start all over again.

I downloaded a partitioning tool, but it seem that this
only works on already created drives, not free space.

Appreciate all advice in advance.

Many Thanks
.
