Default Audio CD's & File Associations

I've got the following media players installed:

WMP9
WMP6.4
RP Enterprise (small, non-intrusive, and worth having, IMO)
MP Classic

Problem: Of these applications WMP9 is the only one that will recognize
and play an audio CD, including retail pre-recorded ones.
I believe this all started when I upgraded to WMP9 about 6 months ago,
but I'm not really sure.

It's not a big deal, WMP9 is fine for this, but it's always nice to have
things working the way they're supposed to, so whatever motor neurons are
crisscrossed inside the registry, I'd like to hook 'em up right.

How do you want to have it working? iow, which player to open the CD?
I remember when you first installed WMP9 and were working through different
things and we talked about this and that concerning it:

Using and having 'all' the major media players custom installed and working
well together has always been a fun thing to do of mine, and you can make
them behave anyway you want if you're into it. You can even have v9 use
some of it's icons for the wmv things and use 6.4 to show all it's unique
ones too so that each different type of audio/video file has its own icon
like 6.4 used to have them do until v9 wanted to make them all one, etc...
but I prefer to have them be individual; and having each other major
players show their particular file type icons and play only it's audio
files for that too... Any bad mannered aspect of any player can be tamed
as you like.

What player do you want to have open the CD then? ..6.4? It'll always
have to be one or the other depending on how you set options.

(I'll be away for the weekend and have a tight schedule at work so might
not always be able to answer right away these days, but I always will)
