What you may have in XP has nothing to do with Win98.
Please read my responses carefully.
What I recommended has nothing to do with "large icons" and you are in
the wrong area. There is no box called "large icons" to check where I
suggested.
My icon font is fairly standard at Size 32. There is NO "large"
option.
Please try again.

I was able to change the icons to "large icons" by checking the box; however,
when I go to settings and change the font to "large", there is no change in
the size of the fonts on my desktop. I run WinXP on my computers, but am
trying to help my mother with hers.
Thanks,

No.
There is no option for "large" in the item: Icon in Control
Panel-Display-Appearance tab.
Change the font size for Icon.

So in Win98, changing the Icon to "large" also changes the font size?

I am having trouble changing the font size on the desktop after getting a new
