have you removed any references to 'networked drives' and suchlike??

Thank you for your persistence and probing questions!

- On this (desktop) comp I never had any shared drive. The missing
volume was for swap only - a good candidate for not sharing.

- I manually mount and unmount the data partitions on my laptop. I know
they are in the corresponding MRU list, but there's no SWAP2 there.
Plus, I was told that for some arcane reason sharing the laptop's swap
partition was no more conducive to satisfacton than with the desktop's.


- Nothing in "Network Places".

Does this answer your question? I can't think of anything else to
check for such like.
