Yep, that's an easy one. If your CD is not a retail Windows 98 CD (or at
least an OEM CD from Microsoft) the files won't be on it. You'll either
have to beg/borrow/buy one, or check your hard drive for the Windows Setup
files (several dozen files whose names start with WIN98 and end with the
letters CAB).

Richard, can you tell me why Everytime i try to install it, It asks for

files which are not on the HDD or the cd-rom?
I posted the link in my first post. It seems to be all the files listed.
Is there anywhere else i can get these files?

Windows 98 Second Edition will serve as an ICS host with no problem.

I bought the computer to put into a loft conversion(for my kid). The

cable
modem is downstairs and does not have enough wire to put upstairs. In a
perfect world i would do this but my kid wont let me.
Should ICS work on 98se? Does it work on 98se?
or is there a free program that wil do it? (Im out of money buying the
computer)

I am trying to network a 98se and XP machine. The 98se machine has

the
internet connection.
When i try to install ICS on the 98se machine it asks for files

that
are on the 98se cd. Then it says there are not found which means the
installation cannot install ICS.
The files it asks for are listed here
http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;q229965
The machines are connected through a wireless network and are

sharing
files and can communicate with each other.
It is most if not all the files listed in the above web page that

it
can not find.
If you need anymore info let me know and i will get back.
Thanks in advance.

Is there any way you could use the XP for ICS?
It works much better than 98se.
