Yes it comes back when i press a key. I have checked the cables. It is a CRT
monitor. It is 5 years old i think.
Any suggestions?

What type is it (CRT/LCD?) and how old is it.

Have you checked the cable? Make sure that it is connected properly and that
there are no bent pins in the connector, etc.

I have heard of people enabling the BIOS default settings to fix a blank
monitor problem, but I think the monitor was blank from startup.
