Haggis had this to say:

ebay , flea market ...get a friend to burn you a copy ....not many
places to 'buy' a new copy

I'd stick with the first two options and in both cases make sure that the
copy that you get is not a pirated copy. The third option (though you had
ownership at one time) is illegal in most countries. While you may not get
caught in the process of doing so you'd still have to think about your
actions perhaps? Maybe you have a friend who's upgraded to XP and is no
longer using their copy of 98? If they no longer had it installed on their
computer they might be able to legally give you their copy. The EULA is
rather full of legal-speak for me to interpret but I know that it only
allows (under MOST conditions) for you to have it installed on a single
computer and to have a single backup disk. When the original is sold or
given away the backup copy must be destroyed (though I think you might be
able to give that to the same person as well, I don't see where there's
anything wrong with that but I'm certainly not a lawyer.) It's pretty likely
that you can find someone who's upgraded and quite willing to give you their
copy of 98... I know that I would certainly give away mine if someone asked
me for it.
