Default Question about Fdisk and win98, or any o/s for that matter

Okay,,, then enough said, is now water under the proverbial.

Gary, I tried again to use Fdisk to partition and format an 80gig hdd,, but am not having much
luck,, would you be interested in helping?

I will go out on a limb and assume you might, if not, perhaps someone else may pick up on this post.

Yes, I have a clean 80gig hdd, and for the second time in two days, tried to partition it using
Fdisk........ braaaaaak, no luck.
I use %'s of hdd owing to known problem of Fdisk not relating to hdd's over 64gig, and IIRC, the
work around was to use a percentage rather than nominating a size in Mg's.
I must have forgotton more than I am willing to admit, because I manage to create a Primary,
followed by an Extended, then a logical. After which, I create 2 more logicals within the same
primary. I followed this up by formatting the new partitions, (I format C: with S switch) but after
I have successfully formatted both the C and D (D: with no S switch) I carry on to the new E: to
whit I get the msg that there is no E: drive.... same with the F: drive that I created. I go
back to options only to find that there is only two partitions,,, C and D.
This is getting frustrating as the first time I did it,, (a day or so prior to my post here) I
actually continued on with my intent, and loaded 98se onto the C: drive. 30 minutes later, I
waddle around in Win98, only to find that I ony had two partitions, and that C: had swallowed up
95% for itself. (yet I know for a fact that I allocated 10gig for C: 20gig for D: 45gig for E:,
and finally 5gig for F:.... all are approximations as you well know, nothing is perfectly
rounded, but all close enough for this issue.)

Do you have any ideas as to what I am missing,,, or perhaps even an easier way of doing this in
this day and age?

Glad the misunderstanding is out of the way.

Once is enough. Call the rest my obsession with someone who REALLY doesn't
give a damn about netiquette.

Don't worry too much about where to post in the 98 groups, the
Gen_Discussion group is the main one and the safe bet, but then it's prone
to the "too many cooks", phenomenon, plus that's where people like Dan like
to come and disrupt services.

If you're not Dan, I sincerely apologize. The percent sign goes after the
number.

Stick to your first bit,,, I am Not Dan,, whoever he is. I merely
came here because I am
having some computer problems at the moment and am trying to post to the
correct groups in the
correct order. (netiquette is beyond fussy lately, either way, I am
trying to do it as expected.)

Yes, I believe you are correct about the % sign,, I did it like that
and was sure I hadnt at
least forgotten that much about Fdisk.
Still, I have managed to mess it up, so I guess I have forgotton; is
not a big deal, I will go
back and give it another shot, its just a time thing that is frustrating
more than anything.

If you propose another apology, I'm listening.
