Default After June?

I HOPE you keep those computers in separate bedrooms! But, right, I THOUGHT I heard Win95 still lives today! Good! Win98 surely cannot die first!

| PCR,
|
| I have a Win95 with AVG Free on board that I keep up to date and use as a
| back-up to my Win98se! If all else fails, my wife's laptop with XP can
| always be used :-)

| If you are careful with your Internet use &/or get a good virus checker &
| firewall, you will be fine, I think, to stick with Win98 until the day it
| crumbles to dust. Some have reportedly seen EVEN Win95 people still alive
| today! One/two may even have posted to this NG. I STILL haven't heard a peep
| out of McAfee that a virus has ever tried to infiltrate me. Kerio Personal
| Firewall has spoken up plenty, but I think I've got it's rules set fine now.
|
| JUST, when all is going well, do make one full system backup, & protect it
| well. After that, keep another backup on a monthly basis. If ever the
| monthly one should become flawed or infected, go to the one that you know is
| good.
|
| Would you like my list of full system backup apps?

| | I'm sorry if this has been brought up before, which I'm sure it has.

| | After June, when Microsoft stops supporting Win98 with security
| | updates, will I need to stop using Win98 with the Internet? Will I
| | need a new operating system? Is there any recourse?
