Default Digital camera not communicating

That assumes that the camera has removable storage - many of the newer
miniature ones can only be accessed by connecting them direct to the PC.

The ONLY thing you need is a memory card reader attached to the USB port
of the PC. This
way you will save camera power and all you need to do is remove memory
card from camera and
insert it in reader. The reader will be assigned a drive letter such as
"G:". You can then
easily copy the files from the "G:" drive to the "C:" drive.

I do this with my Compact Flash cards for my canon Digital Rebel. I use
SanDisk Readers and
SanDisk memory cards (Ultra II which arte some of the industry's fastest
cards). The
SanDisk memory card reader I use is a 6 in 1 which reads six different
memory cards from
Compact Flash to SmartMedia.

What I have suggested is the *BEST* method.
