I'm trying to use a USB 60 MB removable drive/stick, but when I put it in
nothing happens-therefore I can't write to it. I believe 98 isn't
plug-and-play but I don't know what I have to do.

Current USB hardware requires USB version 2, supplied
with Win98SE. Win98 came with only USB version 1.
What OS do you have and what does this hardware require?

It is the BIOS rather than the OS which offers the plug & play option.

USB 2 is nice, but not required to make a USB drive/stick work. You get a note that it would work
faster with USB 2, but it will work with USB 1 if you have the drivers. Windows 98 does not include
the USB drivers, you have to get them from the USB device manufacturer.
