I have posted some questions before and received information (from Gary

Nothing works, the icon and program are still on the computer and it won't
let me uninstall or delete it. What can I do now? I am at my wits end and I
just want to get rid of Norton Anti-Virus 2005, get my money back, etc. Would
appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

Symantec may have an un-installer on their site. They did for AV
2002. You might try that. However, they will tell you it removes
everything except the subscription information so you can't
re-install it and get another year of updates. To remove that
information is a little tricky. Using the un-installer, if they have
one for 2005, may be all you need for your purpose.

I removed everything just for kicks on a machine that came with it
but doesn't use the Net. Reinstalled it and got a new subscription
date. Then removed it all. After un-installing from Add/Remove
Programs I searched the Registry for NAV, Symantec, Norton and 2002.
Removed those then did the same with the HD. There were Symantec
files in the C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Symantec folder with names
starting with the date, e.g 20021020 (Oct 20). The un-install did
not remove that folder.

I use AVG Anti-virus.

Try the Web site.
