Default clean install of Win2K

I hate to repeat myself but that is not a Win Me startup screen which has
just four, yes FOUR options. You are clearly not running or installing a
copy of Microsoft Win Me. Win Me does not support command mode. All I can
suggest is that you are attempting to install a hacked copy that attempts
to restore real mode DOS in which case you would be better served by
posting your queries to a newsgroup that supports such a hacked version
(if one exists).

If you are running Win Me it is impossible to go to a command prompt in
the way that you say you are doing other than if you boot from a Win Me
boot floppy. The removal of real mode DOS was one of the "features" of
Win Me.

Hi Mike,

The screen that comes up on reboot is titled "Microsoft Windows
Millennium Startup Menu" There are actually 6 options. Same 4 as in
previous note and 5. Command prompt only 6. Safe mode command prompt
only. Option 5 (Command prompt only) is highlighted.
