Default clean install of Win2K

One other thing, when I get the Microsoft Windows Millennium Startup Menu
with the 6 options, the mesage at the botom after all the options are listed
is "Warning: Windows has detected a registry/configuration error. Use scanreg
to correct this error." That's why I tried scandisk followed by scanreg.

Hi Mike,

The screen that comes up on reboot is titled "Microsoft Windows Millennium
Startup Menu" There are actually 6 options. Same 4 as in previous note and 5.
Command prompt only 6. Safe mode command prompt only. Option 5 (Command
prompt only) is highlighted.

You don't appear to be running Win Me. Win Me has no option "5. Safe mode
command prompt only."

Yes, I did run scandisk in DOS with a surface scan many times. And I
did test RAM using Simmtester's DocMemory for a couple of hours and
it came up clean/passed. On re-boot after a freeze the screen that
comes up has 5 options 1. Normal 2. Logged 3. Safe mode 4.
Step-by-step-configuration 5. Safe mode command prompt only. When I
try Safe mode it also freezes.
