Default clean install of Win2K

Yes, I did run scandisk in DOS with a surface scan many times. And I did test
RAM using Simmtester's DocMemory for a couple of hours and it came up
clean/passed. On re-boot after a freeze the screen that comes up has 5
options 1. Normal 2. Logged 3. Safe mode 4. Step-by-step-configuration 5.
Safe mode command prompt only. When I try Safe mode it also freezes.

Mart,

Something's clearly not "right" and I feel I/we are missing something
obvious but as to what that is I don't honestly know. This whole Start
Menu thing though does seem very odd to me.

I know I should have read the previous thread but ...

Hi Mike, hM claims to have already run scandisk (hopefully in DOS
with a surface scan too g) and checked his RAM, as I'd suggested in
the previous thread :-

I've tried ... scandisk /all (comes up clean)
Hi Mart, .... I did test my memory chips using
Simmtester's DocMemory and everything checked out fine.

and so I guess that brings us back to the Safe Mode boot option menu
- or this other 'startup menu' screen hM is seeing.
